Colourful Year 4 Primary Place Value Worksheets

Year 4 Place Value Worksheets for pupils in year 4 who are 8-9 years old. Pupils studying year 4 maths are expected to find 1000 more or less than any give number. For example the number 5301, 6301 is 1000 more and 4301 is 1000 less. Some pupils in year 4 will be able to compare numbers beyond 1000. Most pupils in year 4 will recognise the place value of each digit in a four-digit number. Pupils in year 4 are expected to order 4-digit numbers, that is, numbers less than 10'000, from smallest to largest, and in some cases largest to smallest.
